Hello Good People.  We'd like to be sure that we don't cross any boundaries with "Around the Campfire" topics.  I thought I had read something about this a year ago or so, but simply can't remember.  So can someone with a better memory help me to remember the protocol on this matter?  And thanks in advance for helping me to stay out of hot water.

The description says this, Ed: "Feel free to talk about anything and everything RV related in this board." That said, it's really a catch-all forum and you can discuss just about anything you want except those infamous hot topics, and we all know what they are. For example, I stretched it a bit last week in asking about loosing messages on Yahoo. I felt that was OK since there are a ton of Yahoo users here. You may see a reference to something about "coffee" from time to time. It's sort of a standing joke because way back at the inception of this forum, we drifted off to a long, long thread on how to make coffee while camping. It went on and on until it finally ran out of "steam". If the topic belongs in another forum, one of us or Michelle will redirect it. So...not to worry. BTW, there are 684 messages with "coffee" in the message. Of course, not all are about making it. If a topic does seem unsuitable or maybe goes on forever or perhaps devolves into unseemly territory, then a moderator will usually chime in and shut it down.

Coffee! I wasn't around for the original thread. My son is a big shot in Third Wave coffee (bragging), so I have become a coffee snob (humble bragging), It's certainly a topic that can go on and on, with never ending arcane side trips to Portlandia like discussions. Is it time to discuss this camp essential again?

Ed,

To add to Chris' response, if you go to the main/portal page, you'll see the registration agreement that sort-of covers the broad-based rules which the moderation team have here on LDO.  The section on "Conduct" covers it (basically no politics, weapons rights, religious topics, etc.), pretty similar to most forums' user agreements.

P.S.  Make ours one latte each morning.  La Spaziale S1 at home, either a Rancilio Silvia or our Nespresso Pixie with self-filled pods in the motorhome.

Ahhh... how about a new discussion after you read the 684 archived messages first.
There is a lot to be learned.
Anyway, we don't want to upset Ted sooner than necessary.

Don, the Companion is the best tool I have for maintaining my LD. But the coffee article? Not nearly fussy enough! (Kidding)

Well, since we are on the subject of coffee now, we had the opportunity to visit the Mountain Thunder plantation while vacationing on the big island of Hawaii. I highly recommend their Kona coffee. A bit pricey but good!

Dang! I knew I shouldn't have used coffee as a long thread example.  :)

COFFEE is over at The Lazy Daze Companion: Coffee

After perusing this most entertaining article, I didn't see Vietnamese coffee mentioned.  It is quite good, so if you're ever in a Vietnamese restaurant, give it a try!

Well all I've got to say is I'd like proof!  Please send me a message and I will include a mailing address for ... oh maybe 10 lbs. of proof.  ; )

I love the aroma of coffee, but never developed a taste for (nor mocha candy/ice cream/etc.), but I do enjoy the tasteful comments on this thread--I needed a smile after this evening's rush hour dustup in KC--nobody hurt, and just a little scuff mark on the bumper, but this is a much better place to be right now.

By-the-by...perhaps a diversion from one sort of fuel to another.  Gas in Chillicothe is $2.09, but I've seen it for $2.05, $1.97, & about to fill up for $1.85 on the way up I-35 through Kearney.   What's it like elsewhere?  (They have coffee at those places, too.)   ;D

Hi Lynne,

The cost to fuel up here in So Cal varies.

Starbucks about $2.25 for a Vente. Gas a bit higher. Here's a shot from Gas Buddy.

All right already! I've been busted. I've officially changed the topic of this thread to "Coffee". Talk about it to your hearts' content.  :)
