Hymer September 15, 2016, 04:48:31 am Hymer's build quality and features may be very appealing to someone accustomed to LD quality, fit and finish. But way too small for us. I thought they were switching from the cassette toilet to a traditional holding tank but I'm not so sure. While inside a Hymer, I heard the following exchange between the sales rep and a looker...Q "How do I dump the waste?"A "Here is the cassette (outside underneath) which is a real advantage because you can take your camp shovel, dig a hole in the woods, and bury your waste away from your campsite. You can also take it into rest areas and dump it in the toilet and no one will care."
Re: Hymer Reply #1 – September 15, 2016, 08:22:23 am I have a few observations on this scenario, but since most would never pass the "appropriate public comment" test, I will just say that this clueless product rep has about 40 pounds of cassette holding tank content for brains. Joan 3 Likes
Re: Hymer Reply #2 – September 15, 2016, 10:25:34 am Scary that a rep would suggest waste disposal options such as those. Van style rigs are not a good option for this old man anyway. My S&B's already has too many tight spaces. Hence our choice for the LD RB.Kent
Re: Hymer Reply #3 – September 15, 2016, 01:28:43 pm Excellent! It is always entertaining to overhear conversations in an RV show. Todd, Did Hymer have any class C or B+ on display? They make some nice ones for the market across the pond.

Re: Hymer Reply #6 – September 15, 2016, 05:35:56 pm Looked closer today, there was a dump valve for grey water. Black goes into the cassette which you can dump anywhere according to the sales rep. Eating out? Take it in to the restaurant with you and dump on the way out in their toilet.
Re: Hymer Reply #7 – September 15, 2016, 05:54:10 pm We have a Porta-Potti in our campervan, and that is always a problem for dumping. It is much easier to just find a dump station and use a proper hose with a black tank to rid oneself of the effluent than it is to find an appropriate place to dump a Porta-Potti. It is much more difficult to dump a Porta-Potti at a regular dump station, and a real chore at a pit toilet. Even if the chore can wait until one is at home, it is still less than ideal. Maybe a cassette might be slightly less awkward in the doing, but the venues would all be the same possibilities.I am imagining marching through a restaurant with six gallons of ********** in hand. Where would you park it while you eat? ;-> Virtual hugs, Judie Quote from: Todd - September 15, 2016, 05:35:56 pmLooked closer today, there was a dump valve for grey water.
