Todd, welcome back from the abyss!  ;)

Don't feel bad about your research. My better half drives me crazy looking at homes, cars, RVs etc. after we have bought one, always seeking to know if we did the right thing, got the best deal, armed with intimate knowledge of an item based on having just acquired one.  But she is way more perspicacious than I , and almost never makes a wrong purchase. I respect her thinking immensely. So I'm saying looking seriously is a smart process.

We had a trailer with a couple of Lippert (I think) slides. Never failed. But every time we ran them in or out, she was sure there was a new noise to worry about. We sold it after a few year, and were relieved to not have the worry.

One bell and whistle type thing I would want is levelers. And a toad.  Maybe a generator, but definitely solar.  Perhaps window awnings. Good luck on your search!

Oh the things we wish for, need and can't live without.
Like a bigger, better RV (if there is such a thing)...and..,

Hey, Christmas is coming. Suppose it's only natural to start making your "wish list".

There were sooo many reasons why we purchased our Lazy Daze.

I remember back to the day I "popped" for a new Toyota Avalon.

The sales rep at the dealership told me of a lady who walked away from an accident after crashing hers at 65 mph on the freeway. That sold me.

This was a major reason for going with LD. The build quality is superior in so many ways.

Dropped the coin and never gave it a second thought.

Lot's of slide posts report A/C problems as well as slide trouble. The units (mostly Coleman Mach) can't keep up in this heat. Another reason to think twice before buying a slider.

(I suspect that the additional cubic feet to cool are the primary problem but I also get the vibe that Dometic A/C is better.)

This is a typical post regarding Winnebago slide trouble.

Hi there
We just had our changed on the Kitchen slide at the factory in Forest City Iowa.  The extended warranty company that paid for all but 350 dollars since it had failed for the third time.
It is a little noisier, but seems solid so far.  Have only used it 3 times since we picked it up earlier this month but it does feel a lot more solid, no more creaking while driving down the road either.
We have a 2013 Journey 42e which is the same coach
Might try and call Winnebago customer service if it has failed 5 times already and they may pay for yours, but currently they are only doing the retrofits at their factory in Forest City or in Oregon
