Is RVing now passé for the swells?
Where are all the Lazy Daze? We have seen five in 5,600 miles. Normally we see a lot of them on the Pacific Coast? Are they all at home posting to the LDOF?

Where are the up scale Class A’s? All this trip we have seen more of the cheap Fiver’s and TT’s and fewer Class A’s and C’s. We have seen only a handful of the high end A’s [500,000 and up] Is RVing now passé for this group?

"Where are all the Lazy Daze?... Is RVing now passé for this group?"

Well Don,

Some of us fortunate souls still get to work for a living.

I get out for about a week once a month. Sep & Oct will see me shackled to my seasonal two job work schedule. 7 days a week. You know I love it.

Later this month I will be with my daughter at Serrano in Big Bear. November will be the same.

For now Miss B. Haven sits patiently in my driveway. I tuck her in every night.

It's good to know at least one of us is out enjoying the open road.

I've seen 3 this summer. That is about 1 more than normal in this part of the country.  :)

We have seen LOTS of RVs on the road this summer.  Many more that in past years.  The RV park we stay at has been booked solid every weekend, which hasn't been the case in the 8 years we've stayed here.  Lots of class A's, mid-higher end fifth wheels on the roads here in Maine.  Newmars, Entegras, Prevost conversions up and down I95.

We  saw a LD here in the campground and another on I95 a couple of weeks ago.  I don't ever recall seeing 2 in the same season here on the east coast!

Agree with Mitchell, we have seen a lot full campgrounds, but they are full of the lower end RV's.

I think we're seeing more lower end rigs because there are more entry level newbies. I'm sitting in a WA SP and most of these folks have rved a handful of times.

Here in MN is the land of 10,000 lakes and many more RV's of all stripes. Tonight we're roughing it at Mystic Lake Casino RV Resort. This park is probably the highest end RV park in MN well suited for the big buses of which there are many. But there are a number of older more modest rigs including ours. Winnebagos are more commonly seen around here because Forest City is only a couple hours south and obviousy an easy drive for deliveries etc. License plates seen here include CA, TX, GA, and FL.

Perhaps the big rigs are brought out after the summer crowds depart? Destination parks like those in San Diego, Newport & AZ attract a lot of out-of-state travelers who use their rigs as a home away from home. Sunset Vista in HB doesn't open until 10/1; in years past, it typically has had a lot of very high end As.

For most families, summer road trips usually involve state/national parks with kids. Tuolumne Meadows (Yosemite) is a perfect example: I don't recall seeing any expensive RVs trying to squeeze down the narrow, rutted & dusty service road.
