Thanks to fellow Lazy Dazers Jody and Tracey who invited us to an event at the Norgrove Railway, a privately owned railway on the Central Coast. Three separate trains were traversing the hilly 3-mile track, replete with tressels and tunnels, on a 150 acre property.

Indeed! We were talking to a gentleman at the event on Sunday who volunteers at the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum SLO Railroad Museum (https://slorrm.com/) and he mentioned this movie, based on a true story, which we had not seen before so we found it on Amazon Prime and watched it last night. Lots of action!

My wife and I have ridden on a good percentage of the West's tourist railways, but I didn't realize there were so many private, "garden" railways. What a nice opportunity.

Larry, it was news to us as well. Thanks again to Jody and Tracey for the invite!
I’ve had a fondness for trains since a small boy as my grandfather was a mechanic for the Nevada Northern Railroad in East Ely, NV. He had a short commute to work, living a couple blocks away from the depot:
