Title: 1988 shower p-trap replacement
Post by: Donaldon22 on August 29, 2023, 07:04:57 pm
Hi

I am trying to find the p-trap for my 1988 and I can only find 1-1/2”x1-1/4” traps and it looks like I need 1-1/4”x1-1:4” does anyone know where I can get this part.   I’ve tried plumbing stores, Holland Rv and no one seems to have it.

I have a 26RB model.

Thanks!

First welcome to the LDO Forum.   I’d suggest you email Todd Miller who was a key member of the Lazy Daly Team at Ldrvtodd@yahoo.com ‭(909) 627-0941.   I had good success using his email address rather than the phone number.

Hope this helps.

There are the regular sized abs p-traps (1.5” standard smallest size) and white plastic p-traps that are smaller (for sinks) and not quite as robust of materials.

You can see several choices by going to Home Depot and doing a search for sink p-trap.

I have not liked the thinner white plastic ones.  I am guessing the 1 1/4 end is at the sink.  You maybe able to find an adapter to go from 1 1/4” to  1 1/2” that then lets you put in the more robust size, but I don’t remember one.
Fernco has rubber adapters and might have one.

Note:   I also saw some that had a flexible accordion type hose -  Oatey is a good brand (long time plumbing with overall good products), which might work better with a living wiggling RV.

Also, I think they make a larger slip washer that accommodates a larger trap on a smaller pipe.
