Title: Fogged windows, again...
Post by: Jaxon on February 21, 2022, 06:37:59 pm
Kim and I are wanting to replace four windows due to fogging.  Did a cursory search coming upon Glass Solutions in Phoenix.  Called and they said that now, they only do class A RV's, no C's or B's...    We live in New Mexico and were pumped about Phoenix being only a few hours away...

But alas...

Is anyone aware of a business who replaces these fogged windows with LD-tinted or similar replacements in AZ or thereabouts?
TIA

Take a look at The Companion for some ideas. Cleaning is by far the less expensive option.

Do the owners with fogged window after 10 years +/- store their rigs indoors or out in the elements ?

My windows were fogged up when i bought, it hasn't changed in the 1.5 yrs of ownership. I just keep reminding myself that it is a big expense and do I want the effort of changing them out.

Ours were fogged when we got it from a gentleman in Santa Cruz, CA and yes, it was stored outside.  Wondering if the salt air had any adverse effects...?

Still have yet to find a source for removing the windows and even cleaning the dual panes.  It's one of those things where abundant caution is needed as a poor/bad repair can cause significant water damage later on...

Heat cycling is the cause of leaks. Eventually, the rubber seals break down after many heat/cold cycles
Our 2003 has been stored outside all of its life . The windows started fogging seven or eight years ago.
Lazy Daze can order replacements with the proper tint color, this may be next winter's project.

Well, I didn't realize it at the time we purchased our 2017 used but we have the fogged windows already.  It was stored outdoors in central Florida by the previous owner.  Disappointing that it happened so soon.

It's really only noticeable when the sun hits it a certain way so we are learning to live with it. We've thought about replacement and since we are within a few hours of the Mothership, that is an option.  My worry is how long would the new windows last?  No way of knowing, of course, and I imagine it's a pricey repair.
