Our AC unit keeps leaving a lot of water on the roof, wondering if anyone has hacked a drain hose or something?
I have the same problem with mine. I’ve considered uninstalling it to re-install it higher, but don’t know if I would solve the pooling problem.
You have discovered what many of us affectionately call 'Lake Newton'.
Long story short, it's a tradeoff that comes with a roof made from a single piece of aluminum.

I'm thinking of making a drip pan that connects to a hose or something like that.
Either that or adding gutters. It's really annoying when trying to keep the rv clean

The low spot is around the roof A/ and is caused by its weight.
The only to drain it or to keep it from occurring is to park on a slope.

Hi Larry; In my old (not LD) coach, I cut a hole where I wanted an A/C unit, and made a standard 14" vent. I reinforced the roof from inside the hole, and added 1/2 " plywood between the wood roof and the aluminum roof. Added the electric line, breaker in the panel and a Dometic unit. I had planned to make a drain pan, the size of my 1/2" plywood footprint, and run a drain line inside the bathroom wall, all the way through the floor and have it come out below the coach. Didn't have the time then. I have a friend with a hydraulic bending brake. I plan to make a stainless sheet pan for my TK and run it through the bathroom (hollow) wall, when I need to replace the A/C next. RonB I'll take pictures.
