Do posts have numbers? In the past there were numbers for the posts. I found an older post of mine and wanted to refer to it in a new post but couldn't find a number.

They do, but just stating a topic number and post number won't help someone find it.
Better to copy the URL for the post and paste it. That will give a direct link that makes it easy to find.
