Title: 24' front dinette: how comfortable is the sofa bed?
Post by: lwhiteside on December 28, 2020, 08:09:40 pm
Hi all,
We are on the list and are looking at a 24' rear bath/front dinette model. How comfortable is the pullout sofa bed for two people? Sleeping in the queen over cab bed is just not going to happen for us.
Does anyone have a 24 foot LD anywhere near southern Arizona that we could look at?
Thanks!
Laurel

The sofa beds in our 2021 RB have memory foam and are quite comfortable.

Comfort will depend partly on YOUR dimensions - tall people may find it too short. As far as width, it pulls wayyyy out. This will block access to the cab and make dinette access iffy too. This is adjustable, making it roomy enough for one without blocking the aisle, but for two you will probably want full extension.

Yes, two people can sleep in the pulled out couch, that doesn't mean it will be easy or extremely roomy. It's a bed better suited for one
I can say for certain my wife wouldn't be please with the difficulty of getting in and out of bed, dealing with the barrel chairs or a dinette. The couch isn't long enough for me to be comfortable.
IMO, the 24' Front Lounge is perfect for a couple, as long as they sleep in the bunk.

If you want or need a shorter LD, the Twin-King has two beds below or can be set up as a king bed. it's a very usable floorplan and better suited for a couple sleeping below.
When we can't get up into the bunk anymore, that will it for the Front Lounge, we will find another model with roomy sleeping accommodations below.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!
From what you guys said, I don't think that model will work for us. Maybe the TK 24'.

With the sofa made into a bed, can you access the overhead bunk?

With the couch pulled out, the bunk can still be accessed but it is a tight fit between the couch and the dinette.
