Here's my list so far for a new 27 MB.
$4,000 worth:
Driver Assist package
Battery Disconnect Switch
Bilstein Shocks
Second Solar Panel
Backup Camera
We thought about the outdoor shower and electric step but reading here there are issues with the step and folks not using the shower.
I've read that some have requested 2 additional 12VDC outlets. Where, on a 27 MB, are good placements? I want to ask for this.
Thanks, Ted
ON EDIT:
Do the new rigs come with solid tire valve extenders?
you don’t want extenders but valves.....and no, mine didn’t....had dually valves installed post purchase

That's what I meant to say.
I took our current Lazy Daze to Chuck the TireMan.
Unfortunately he passed away.
Ted,
Unless LD has changed things, they do not install the solid long valve stems. Does the new Ford e450 come with built-in TPMS? I thought it did. Perhaps it’s an option. I like our Tire Minder. Parts are easily replaced. Factory (Ford) installed TPMS sensors are inside the rim, I believe, and can be a costly fix if a sensors dies.
We have the outside shower. I think I’ve used it at least once during each of our journeys. Great for washing doggy paws, rinsing shoes and feet. All manner of uses. That’s my take on the item. If I ordered a new LD, I’d get it again. It’s just outside the coach door. Very convenient.
Happy trails.

Buy them online from Borg ( I just did a couple of weeks ago) then go to Allen Tire to have them installed...

Does the outside shower faucet have hot water capability also?
Does the outside shower faucet have hot water capability also?
Yes...
My only ‘wish list’ option for the outdoor shower would be a control panel for activating the water pump. Not a necessity and I’m sure it’s not there for a reason.
Pretty easy to jump inside the rig to turn things on. Oh well.
Kent
Ted, I pretty much agree with your options list. My only addition would be the heated power side mirrors for $750.
Kent, yes the new chassis includes factory TPMS.

Typically, oem tire sensors do not give the option of reading out pressures nor setting limits, and of course they will not monitor a toad either.

I thought of that also however we've been all over in our current Lazy Daze and haven't needed that option.
I will consider though.

Ted,
When I ordered, I asked where the standard placements of the outlets are and then looked at the floor plan to see what was missing. I ordered a RB, so the placement is different than in a MB, but I added one over the drivers couch near the front and one in the end of the cabinet by the right side overhead area. Standard is by the dinette and I think somewhere in the kitchen.
I also ordered the upgraded mirror, not because it is heated, but because of the remote control inside the vehicle. Todd said the standard mirrors don't have driver's seat controls....you have to get out and mess with them.
HTH,
Linda
My two items or cents worth:
1. Outside shower if you have dogs.
2. Mirror upgrade - You pay $750 up front and adjust the mirrors to 'just right the first time' for the next 10-20 years of ownership.
3. A couple of more sockets where they'd do the most good.
Joel
Just a thought; unless things have changed since about 2009 MB, the outside shower is on the driver side. Open the kitchen cabinet under the sink and you could see the back of it. If you are washing dogs, as we did, it is OK. But it you want to rinse, dry and dash in.....that will be a somewhat longer dash than from one conveniently located by the door.
We had an electric step and liked it. We did have to replace the motor once, but still found it worth while.
Heated mirrors... will you be traveling east? It can be really nice to have them on a cold, foggy morning. (We're in GA) Come to think of it, it doesn't have to be cold.
We had the Bilstein shocks and I thought the ride was quite harsh. Then again, when we were in the Badlands, and the normal wind speed was at least 15mph, we didn't feel it much. Don't know if it was the shocks alone or not. Of course, everybody's different.
I do wish we had more 12v outlets. We had (and still have) the Endless Breeze 12v fan and would have liked more places to plug it in. I think Andy might have some ideas about placement (of the fan).
Have fun deciding and good luck.

Regarding the mirrors, in our case, DW and I will be sharing the driving and typically have slightly different side mirror settings so it would be worth it to us to have the power adjustment function. We also like heated mirrors as it can get a bit nippy where we live and travel.

wish there was a water pump switch in the bathroom!!!!
I'll just say this, from my own experience: get as many 12 V outlets as they'll agree to, and be prepared to add more yourself as you get used to the rig. You can never have you many!
wish there was a water pump switch in the bathroom!!!!
I asked about this. Todd said no :(
Linda
We have a 2013 MB. We had extra outlets added, but I don’t recall which are standard and which were added, so I’ll mention all of them. There are both AC and DC above the dinette table, and both above the hinged table in the bedroom.
For those that really want a pump switch in the bathroom or by the outside shower, it can be done.
I know others have put that bathroom pump switch into their LD.

I am in the camp that likes the optional mirrors. I use them when pulling up for gas, and backing into a tight spot.
On the MidBath the gasoline fill cap is just above the grey tank outlet. I adjust my mirror so I can see the small cap, I pull up until the small cap and fae pump hose are both in the mirror. After the fillip I adjust the mirror so it is in the normal position so I San keep an eye on the tail swing as I leave the gas island.
When backing up into a parking spot I’ll put the view from the mirror on a object of concern and adjust the mirror (while stopped) as I back up.
On our 2017 MB we added the following that you did not list:
Battery disconnect
Ultra leather seats
Electric step
In motion satellite system
Heated power cab mirrors
Dinette Door to Forward dinette
2 12 volt plugs
120 volt outlet behind TV Cabinet
RGG cable connection from outside to tv area for tailgater
We use everything.
The remote control heated mirrors are more than worth having. Fogging glass is dangerous as is reaching out to adjust them. I too find the remote controls very handy as John does.
We have a 2014 TK. I'm not sure what type of 12VDC is being put in today. But I have had to replace the outlet with USB type connectors.

I love the electric step. The only problems I've ever had are the making of my own kind.
Electric mirror worth their weight in gold. Use em all the time. When driving thru rush hour big city traffic it easy to watch the 'feas' dart in and out around you.

I'm curious about a few things.
Does the electric step have a manual override capability in case of malfunction?
With satellite TV are you full-time or have a month to month subscription?
You had a door added? To the front seat for access? What about the other seat?
Where did you place the 2 extra 12VDC outlets?
Why the 120V behind the TV?

I'm assuming they install the round socket type 12VDC outlets?
Also, I'm wondering if the electric steps have the ability to be operated manually in case of an electrical malfunction?

yep!

If they stop working, you are stuck with whatever position they stop in, either out or in.
The step motor and gearbox are sealed and have no provisions to manually extend or retract the steps.
Removing the motor allows retracting the step but it will need to be secured to prevent the step from swinging outward. Removal of the motor from under the rig is a PIA and isn't possible if the step fails in the retracted position.
On a rainy New Years morning years ago, I had to cut the motor wires and use a jumper battery to power the steps in when they failed to retract.
I have had a deep dislike of the step ever since. The step was found to have a badly corroded power plug.
Since then, the magnet switch on the door has failed and last year, the motor and gearbox were replaced due to extreme wear.
The newer motor and gearbox appear to be better constructed than the older steps, I hope your experience with the step will be better than ours.
We carry one of these for sites where the entry step is high off the ground or if the step fails.

The 120V behind the TV avoids using 12 volt connection for satellite receiver when we are plugged into 120V.
We are annual on Dish, use a receiver from home when traveling.
One 12 volt in back and one up front.
The other dinette has a door on front, but does not have access from the top. We use it for dirty laundry, The dinette closes to the front is assessable from the top and the outside. We had a door put on it so we could remove the door and put a curtain on the opening for our cat's litter box.

I'm having a hard time visualizing this.
If you have time can you post some pics of the standard configuration and what you added?
Did you have LD modify this or did you?
Larry, your comment about having to replace the electric step motor due to extreme wear prompted a couple questions in my mind. It is activated by a switch on the screen door correct? If so, is there an override to disable the step so it’s not constantly going in and out while parked

When the door switch is in the 'On' position, the step will extend and retract when the door is opened and closed.
In the 'Off' position, the step will stay in the position it is in.
When we are traveling, the switch stays in the 'On' position. When camped, it stays in the 'Off' position, after the step has been extended.
No matter what position the door switch is in, when the engine's ignition is turned on, the step will automatically retract, to protect the step from impacts with curbs, etc.

LD did the modification. Our LD is in storage, so no picture now. If you can imagine the door accessing the storage area under the dinette next to the coach entry door, and having one installed in the same area on the other dinette. We removed this door and use opening for cat to access liter box. One can then access the liter box from the top by removing the seat cushion. Once our cat goes to cat heaven we can reinstall the door and use the area for something else. I hope this helps.
LD did the modification.
It's been a long while since I visited the Mothership and toured a MB. We have a 23.5TK.
To be clear, the way I understand it is only one bench seat has a door and you asked them to install one on the other bench?
Do you recall the cost?
It would be interesting to know all the possible modifications that aren't listed in the options sheet.
Yes, it cost $85

"it would be interesting to know all the possible modifications that aren't listed in the options sheet."In principle, there are none. Best if you negotiate directly with whomever takes your order.Chris
After ordering my 2016, my impression is that what "off sheet" options you get can depend somewhat on the mood of a certain party on the day you are placing your order . On a good day they may be more flexible and at other times not so much. I remember asking about extra plug ins and was told they aren't done. Frank
