Title: 1996 TK Roof Vent Replacement Dome
Post by: LazyMatt on March 31, 2019, 04:33:53 pm
I want to replace the dome on my TK - the one that is over the kitchen area. Anyone know the direct replacement for it? I managed to take it back to storage with no pictures of it thinking it would be easy to find a replacement. Now I see quite a few out there!

Thank you.

I think it’s always best to take it off and take it with you when buying the new one.

Smoked or clear?
I replaced the one on my 96 FL, probably the same one.
Mine is smoked, I could look for the info if you are interested.
I got an aluminum piece with mine, that's how it came.
That was the part on mine broken.
I ordered mine direct from Fantastic Fan. They were great to deal with.

It's smoked. Thanks for anything you find. I had a Fantastic Fan on my last one and it was a delight. But will probably go with stock this time.

We have an air conditioner in our kitchen area (TK 89).  So I am not sure what dome you are talking about.

We replaced a vent lid  in the lounge area with this:
VETOMILE 14"x 14" RV Roof Vent Cover White Universal Replacement Vent Lid... (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078K5RW5L/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

It was an easy replacement and there are YouTube videos to walk you through it.

As Dale suggested, remove and take the old cover to local RV shop and match it, they come in many variations.
Make sure the track either comes with the new cover or can transfer from the old to new cover.
While at it, remove the crank mechanism too and buy a replacement, the gears wear out over the years.
