I'd like to thank all who were patient with me during my planning stages on my reseal project. Especially Larry and his pointers on dealing with Eternabond. Man, you were right on. I did use the slow cure 5200 the plastic corners, I couldn't quite handle the white stripe. The coach lives in a heated garage and cure time wasn't an issue. I used 5200 fast cure on all the windows and then Dicor on the roof vents. As stated, it's a project.

Jon ... looks like a top-notch, professional job.  Well done on a tough project.  Please advise us when we can drop-off our Rig for a similar job!   ;)

1.  Did you remove the old sealant along the edges of the roof before your used  Eternabond?
2.  Similarly, did you remove the old sealant around the vents before using new Dicor?  And if  you removed the old sealant, could you explain the tools that you used and the ease or difficulty of removing the old vent sealant.
3.  Did you have a helper with this project?
4.  Finally, could you give me an estimate of the total hours?

Margee and I have been considering resealing our roof seams and vents ourselves.  It's not a project I'm taking lightly.

The only seam I removed all the old sealant was across the front, upon Larry's suggestion and it did have issues as he suggested it might. Else where I just addressed any bubbles and re-calked the screw heads and seam. Removing the old sealant was not hard at all with the tool, with out it, well. The tool being a power multi tool.

If the sealant around the vents was good, I just cleaned and went over it with the self leveling Dicor. I did mask the roof so I could control the edges and make it look better. 

No helper, there were times  could of used one. I think the less traffic on the roof the better.

I never payed any attention to my hours, some could do it faster I just worked in stages and when I felt like it. 33 days of below zero weather makes you kind of want to drag the job out. Nice to have the shop.

Your rig is at the right age to consider resealing the roof seams. Keep and eye on the exterior window seals too, and watch for existing sealant to start shrinking and forming depressions where water can sit.

When I still sealed roofs, it was a full day's project, working alone,  to clean the roof and around the vents, to prep for the tape, apply the Eternabond tape and then overcoat the sealant around the vents, with either 5200-FC or Dicor.
The hard part is applying the Eternabond tape. It is very unforgiving if handled incorrectly.
A helpful helper is an asset when installing the tape.. with some helpers. it's easier to do it yourself.
The tape can be applied from either the roof top or off a tall, A-frame ladder (or a pair of ladders, if a helper in involved).

If you have never done this before, give yourself two or three days to complete the project, depending on your endurance and enthusiasm .
The roof seams can be done at a different time than the vents, no need to do it all at once.
I wear an organic filter while using acetone or lacquer thinner, during the last cleaning, right before applying the tape.
Get a box of box of throwaway gloves too, for the solvent and when applying the sealant over the vents.

Keep a can of solvent and rags on the roof when using the sealant, 5200-FC and Decor can be messy.
