That little rubber flap on our screen door needs to be replaced but I'm kind of stumped. It's that 1" X 1" (est.) piece that allows the screen door to close without hitting the main door latch. I've not found a way to remove screen door parts and then install a new piece of rubber. I checked with a large RV supply store in the DFW area and the parts CS said he'd never heard of this part nor ever had anyone ask for it.
My best guess is the large silver bracket holding the rubber flap needs to be tapped out. Then glue or somehow install a replacement flap and tap the bracket back into place. So has anyone ever dealt with that piece of the screen door.
One bump hoping for a little bit of guidance. Otherwise, I may need to get on the list for a new LD. ;)

I sure can Chris, but it will be tomorrow. And thank you. We're not eager to get on that 2018-19 LD List!
Hi Ed and Margee. I haven't actually looked at the door on newer (post 2006) motorhomes, but my 1999 vintage sure doesn't have any rubber flap. I believe that Lazy Daze did change the door manufacturer about 2007 with the anniversary edition. I guess by now I should say the 50th since this year would be the 60th. A picture of the issue would be in order. RonB

Our 2007 Twin-King has that little black rubber flap on the screen door. I too have never seen it listed for sale but so far our's is good. I think a call to the mothership is required. Good luck on your quest.

I have a pre-flap era screen door, but agree with the suggestion to call the factory, if for nothing else than getting the name of the door manufacturer so you can track down the part yourself. (I don't know if LD still gets doors/screens from Hehr.)
Thank you for the several suggestions. At the least, I'll post a picture of the flap part and see if this sparks any other suggestions. And calling the Factory is in my plan too, but it's the last option.
Ed,
I’m not sure what your door seal looks like yet, but it sounds similar to the seal used under the hood of my Toyota.
eBay has quite a few car hood seals available. Perhaps one could suit your needs.
Good luck.

Hello K. The rubber piece is a flap and not a seal. The flap and opening in which the flap resides line up with the main door bolt and keeps the bugs out when the main door is open and the screen is closed. You can barely see it in this pic from My LDO Album. The piece is about 1" X 1.5" (est.) or so and resides in a "C" shaped retaining clip. I'll post a better picture tomorrow.

So this is a picture of the screen door area with the rubber flap. I'm not eager to try and tap out the silver looking bracket, but it seems like the only way to access the rubber flap.
