Title: Better Shower Head - Happier DW

After reading the many posts about shower head replacements in this forum and a few personal emails, we decided on the Camco 43712 shower head ($11 + tax).  We did a test run today with the original shower head and then the replacement, which fits the existing hose and holder.  It's been a long time since a shower head has made me this happy, which is kind of weird.  Btw, we ordered this from Home Depot which didn't charge for any shipping even though it came from their warehouse to a local store.

I've learned that the history of countless LD solutions is often found mining the "Search Conversations."  And so it goes.

Ed and Margee - thanks for your post.  What is it about the shower hear that you like (versus the original one)?

I replaced the original shower head and hose with this combo (at the same time I replaced the bath faucet):

http://www.amazon.com/Camco-43714-Shower-Switch-Flexible/dp/B000OAG63G/ref=pd_sbs_263_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=17XAM9F4QAHHMJ80A2Z2&dpID=3180Y561akL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_ (http://www.amazon.com/Camco-43714-Shower-Switch-Flexible/dp/B000OAG63G/ref=pd_sbs_263_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=17XAM9F4QAHHMJ80A2Z2&dpID=3180Y561akL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_)

There are two minor issues with this particular set-up: the flexible hose is metal and it scrapes/"ratchets" against the washbowl when in use, and the shower head drips and splatters the water is turned off if it's replaced in the bracket before draining it. Not really a big deal, and certainly better than the cheesy shower head/hose that came standard in the 2003. ;-)

As ever, YMMV.

What we like and appreciate about this new shower head is the force of the water coming out of the head and that we have 3-4 choices of types of spray.  DW and I will  be able to rinse our hair much faster than with the original.  Secondly, this head fits the existing LD hose and connection, which means it fits into the LD shower head holder.  DW said, "oh my, this is just wonderful!"  And that made it worthwhile.  Hope this helps.

If you are willing to spend a little more money than here are some good options:

After a long motorcycle ride in the desert or just a good hike these shower heads have a cool massage mode and they limit water consumption. Worth the money IMO. I agree the original showerhead is wimpy and a cheap unit.

Thanks.  I believe I will get this before my next trip.  By the way, are you from Fort Worth originally?  We are from there and get back often.  Cheers
