Hi All:
Just signed up for the group yesterday. We are looking to buy a Lazy Daze next spring/summer. We live in Central Ohio and am hoping to connect with someone in either Ohio or a surrounding state that owns a Lazy Daze and who would be willing to let us visit. We've seen lots of pictures of the LD and everything we've read tells us this sounds like the Class C for us but we've not ever seen one in person and would love to do so. The floor plan we are most interested in is the mid bath with the twins in the back (28') but right now we would be happy to actually see any model just to get an in-person feel for the LD.

We ordered our 27' MB LD last July after an extensive 3 year research and evaluation of all makes. You have made a good choice in our opinion.
We also live on East Coast and wanted to see one and were referred to the NELD(NorthEast LD) chapter who have members in Western Pa. They also have a Yahoo group. Maybe there is a group in your area. Would most likely be on Yahoo. I am sure you will get a positive response. NELD is doing their Spring rally in May outside Pittsburgh. We went to their fall one and everyone was willing to show us their units and share their stories/lessons learned, etc.. Wonderful experience. Great people.

That was the kicker. After we made our decision we were given a delivery date of May 2015. I think the wait is going to do Kristen in. We also are complicating things by heading straight to Alaska next summer. Having to figure out logistics of getting all our gear out there. Meanwhile following all LD blogs soaking in the information both the good and the ugly. Another site to follow on Yahoo is LD enhancements.
We live in Maryland near the capital but our unit will not be back East until next fall is all goes as planned.

Not sure how far you are willing to drive. We live in NE Ohio and have a Lazy Daze Midbath (which is the floorplan I think you are interested in).

Just a reminder: Email addresses posted in messages show in full when the message board is read through one's email, but when the board is read on the LWALDRV website, Yahoo cuts off everything after the @ in an email address. It's a good idea to *spell out* the email address when including it in a message, e.g., samsmith AT longgone DOT com (Spelling out the "DOT" isn't really necessary, but spelling out AT is!)

thank you so much for responding. I have discovered someone very near our home that we will try and get together with. I'll keep you in mind though because it is always fun to hear about others experiences with them. Pittsburg is a good 3 hours for us but we enjoy road trips so we just may take you up on your offer at some point.

Barb, I get the LD messages through the website and not through email. Meaning that your email address is not readable to me. You will need to spell out your email address including the part after the "at" for me to be able to email you since Yahoo cuts it off when you post it as you tried to do. If you found someone closer to home that is fine.

I have a 2004 Midbath in Lansing, MI that will start rolling south on I65 in 4weeks. You are welcome to visit Deja Blue to feel the floor plan. We are winterized and viewing may be more fun at our Great Lakes Caravan Club gathering in Ohio in early June. We are just new members ourselves and found the GLLDCC group very welcoming.
The Midbath is a great choice. We have several in our group.

Barbara, Hi. I live in Columbus Ohio north side of town and own a 2001 mid bath model. I've yet to see another Lazy Daze in Columbus and you're more than welcome to stop by for a tour. You can contact me at laramesrt6 @ gmail dot com We really enjoy taking camper up to Lake Erie (East Harbor and Kellys island state parks for quick getaways).
You cannot go wrong with Lazy Daze but probably will need to travel some distance west to buy one as I'm sure you have already figured out. The quality lives up to the online pictures.

We were talking with Todd this morning, trying to wind up a few loose ends, like specifying the upholstery, etc. We really do not like the "granite" Formica on the table top and wondered if we could get a maple Formica which would match the light wood cabinets, even volunteered to buy the proper Formica in Seattle and send it down. He laughed and said "Interesting, the last few orders have raised the same issue, when we first started with the granite Formica, every one liked it. Will see what we can do" .
There are two "hung issues" at this point. One is the Sirrus radio for $400 and the other is the fancy seats covers for, I guess $ 750.
Before I retired I would be look for a cost/benefitanalysis, however at this point I would ask do they add materially to the enjoyment of the rig?

$400 is a lot just for the addition of satellite radio. An portable outboard satellite receiver might be a good choice. We use ours in the LD or Jeep, when traveling and at home.

To make up your mind about the seats, you need to try sitting in a Ultraleather seat. Some like them, to me they feel like the old fashioned naugahyde seat covers.
Our 2003 cloth captains chairs are very comfortable and have worn like iron.
As for your table, if LD will not accommodate your request, the plastic veneer can be changed out afterwards. Or to make it easier, ask then not to install the granite veneer, instead, leaving the top plain plywood, ready for the veneer of your choice.
It's your new MH and you will be looking at it for many years, equip and decorate the way you like best, it's what we all do.
LDs are not custom MHs, we need to customized most things ourselves.
Be patient, the wait can be long.

Our 2003 cloth captains chairs are very comfortable and have worn like iron." --- Those who have the faux leather seat covers in their rigs (and like them) may feel differently, but as I mentioned in a previous post, "Ultraleather" is not leather; it's polyurethane, and, in my experience, that stuff doesn't "breathe". My experience with "vinyl" upholstery is that it's cold in the winter, hot in the summer, and "sticky" in every season. Real leather, yes; plastic, no.
My 2003 has the cloth upholstery on the driver's and passenger's seats; *all* the seats and couches have been covered with washable throws for 11 years, so they are very clean and show virtually no wear.
JMHO, but I'd spend the $750 on other "customizers" that you find you want down the line; believe me, you'll find uses for that cash *many times over *! ;-)

I think it's easier to put new veneer (Formica or equivalent) on new veneer than on plain plywood, so it may not be problem if LD puts it on the table. Our counters at home are three layers now.

Exactly. In my opinion, it's the most uncomfortable seat material imaginable. My used rig came with vinyl "Ultraleather" seats, and I immediately covered them with lambswool seat covers. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and they breathe... now that's comfort! :-)
