Although I was aware my Michelin tires were part of the recall, I did get a an official recall notice from Michelin tire company today. My tires were purchased at Discount Tires in the Denver area.

Chris like you I got a letter from Michelin today. But it is the same old numbers nothing new. My tires are not on the list. I got my tires also from Discount tires in Westminster CO. Mine are B7------- 1312
Got the tires to make a 10,500 mile trip to Alaska in Summer of 2012

milehioutlaw (hate to address you this way but you never add a name to your posts)

I suspect the reason your tires are not on the list is because you don't have the affected tires. According to the Michelin recall, it is the LTX M&S LT 225x85x16 tire that is being recalled. Over the last few weeks, you have posted on more than one occasion that you have the LT 215x85x16 tire which isn't on the recall list.

I also found it curious that you posted on Jan. 12,2014 in message #144488 that "When ever I go to one of the RV shows, all I see are the 215x85x16 tires". I don't know what kind of motorhomes you've been looking at, but every Ford based Class C that I've ever looked at and paid attention to its tires, had 225x85x16's on it. And I just went to another show last week. Have you seen that size tire on Class A's or the Sprinter based rigs? Just curious.

One other post you made, #144518, I think you posted that the previous owner of your rig had the LD factory change the tires to 215x85x16's. Based on my interactions with the LD factory, I think changing tires would be one of the least likely things they would *ever* get involved with. They wouldn't even change the wheel stems  from rubber ones to metal stems so I could add extenders back when I bought my rig in 2003.

Anyway, maybe Michelin contacted you to let you know your tires weren't being recalled. Lucky you. You don't have to go through the hassle of getting new tires installed for free.

"...it is the LTX M&S LT 225x85x16 tire that is being recalled."

Just to clarify re: the Michelin tires affected by the current recall...

http://www.michelinman.com/safety-recall.page (http://www.michelinman.com/safety-recall.page)

The affected tire (and only those tires whose DOT manufacture dates are listed) is the LT 225/75R16 LRE ('85' was a typo, right, Steve K.?).

Hi Joan,

Yes, it was a typo. I had a case of 85 series tires on the brain. Sorry for the error. I'll blame it on brain freeze since it's so cold in Ohio this weekend.;-)

Hi Group, when I made an error like I did regarding tire size, is there a way to go back and edit a post after it has been sent? Or must one delete it and start over?

I still hate the new format.

"is there a way to go back and edit a post after it has been sent?"

Unfortunately, no. If there were, I could go in and edit out the repetitive "copy of the entire post responded to" text that people sometimes forget to delete before posting.

We were gone for afew day and came home to find a letter from Michelin indicating we might have the defective series but...the right dates, the wrong letters.
Have to say Michelin is a lot better about fixing their mistake than Dometic.
.

Darn, new new set of free tires would have been nice.
