Our '05 MB was parked under some gummy trees in a park for one week and the white rear window caulking is badly discolored.
The brown stain seems to be "in" the white caulk and looks bad. It seems resistant to bleach, tar remover and several other cleaners.
On close inspection, I also noticed several gaps in the caulk that appear could let in water.
Questions:
1- would I need to dig out (sounds drastic...) the stained caulk and replace it? If yes is there a documented process to avoid damage to the paint and window frame?
2- I was given a tube of caulk at the factory, is the the best thing
to use to fill the voids in the original sealing job?
Any ideas?

I have used a silicon base caulk, non paintable, with good results.
You need to use the non paintable caulk because it will not allow the dirt, etc. to penetrate.

Just a FYI: the factory advises *not* to use silicone caulk for any application on the LD. I would suggest calling Vince at the factory for a recommendation.
