Headed to a state park in 10 days with 50 amp service.  Only my 2nd time out (1st time I just plugged into the park's 30 amp with 30 amp cord), so need advice.  Will I need to buy a 50 to 30 amp reducer/connector os some type?

I would be really surprised if a state park had only 50-amp service.
Regardless, yes, you will need a 50-amp to 30-amp adapter.  Any RV store should have them.

team6d (???),

Every 50 amp plug-in post that I have encountered in state parks also has a 30 amp socket in the post as well as the 50 amp socket.  Maybe others have different experiences.

Barry,
Martin Creek SP near Henderson, Tx has 50 amp only sites, however, most were 30 amp only. Their electrical posts were old.  Not the norm for the Texas state parks we have visited.
We're going to Inks Lake SP next week.  Their web site indicates that they have 50 amp sites with no mention of 30 amps.  I think I will give them a call.

Maybe having a 50 to 30 amp adapter isn't a bad idea.
